The IEEE Student Branch at the University of Vocational Technology (UoVT), Ratmalana, is an active student community passionate about technology, innovation, and professional development.
As part of the world's largest technical professional organization — IEEE — we aim to advance technology for humanity's benefit while enhancing technical and leadership skills through workshops, technical sessions, and hands-on industry exposure.
We regularly organize technical sessions, awareness programs, and collaborate with other branches in Sri Lanka to provide hands-on learning and industry exposure to our members.

IEEE Day 2025: Celebrating Innovation and Excellence in Technology
IEEE Day 2025 was proudly organized by the IEEE Student Branch of the University of Vocational Technology on 14th October 2025, commemorating the global IEEE Day celebration while marking the 7th anniversary of the Student Branch. The event brought together distinguished academic leaders and IEEE representatives, creating a platform for inspiration, reflection, and celebration of technological advancement.

XtremeIgnite 1.0
IEEE XtremeIgnite 1.0 was a six-hour pre-competitive coding challenge organized by the IEEE Student Branch of the University of Vocational Technology to prepare undergraduates for the globally recognized IEEE Xtreme programming competition. Held on 09th October 2025, the event marked the first-ever coding competition organized at the university, attracting over 100 student participants.
